Call for submissions: Puisano Live Music Programme in SA
The Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation in South Africa is calling on unsigned and emerging bands to submit original videos for the Puisano Live Music Programme.
The programme focuses on performing bands and live music showcases across the province. The programme uses existing community facilities like jazz taverns to showcase new and established talent. It is aligned to the provincial government’s creative industries development framework and music strategy.
The winning band will win:
- A one-year performance opportunity to the value of R100 000.
- Studio time to the value of R30 000.

The submission deadline is 15 September.
General guidelines
- A group should not consist of less than four members.
- Artists should be aged 18 years and above.
- Artists must be based in Gauteng Province.
- Artists should have completed school.
- Applicants must have received formal or informal musical training.
- Applicants must not be signed to any recording company.
Assessment criteria
- Arrangement/composition.
- Presentation (music/personal).
- Improvisation/Interpretation.
How to participate
Step 1
- Record a video of your band performing one song.
- Introduce the name of the band and where you are from.
- Video must be in landscape, MPEG-4 format and of good quality.
Step 2
- Log in here.
- Download the registration form and fill it in.
- Create a folder (zip file) with your video and registration form.
Step 3
- Click the submission box on the website.
- Upload your folder and submit.
