Call for proposals: Forecast Festival in Germany
Forecast, a German-based international platform for knowledge transfer, is calling on creatives around the world working in various art disciplines to submit their proposals for a chance to present at Forecast Festival at the Radialsystem cultural centre in Berlin from 30 March to 5 April 2020.
This platform is designed to encourage interdisciplinary exchange and public discussions on the ideas that will shape the future. It brings together young talents from all over the world with mentors who share their expertise in specifying and realising pioneering project ideas.
The 2019 Forecast mentors are musician Okkyung Lee (South Korean), visual artist Candice Breitz (South African), Internet activist Paolo Cirio (Italy), cartoonist Anders Nilsen (US), radio reporter Joe Richman (US) and conceptual designer Jerszy Seymour (UK).
The application deadline is 1 March and successful applicants will be informed by 10 April.
Eligibility
Forecast is meant for innovators and beginners exploring the following art forms:
- Music
- Visual art
- Radio broadcasting
- Cartooning
- Conceptual design
Selection process and timeline
- Each applicant can apply only once.
- Eighteen candidates will be selected to present their projects in July 2019 at the Forecast Forum in Berlin. Forecast mentors will individually decide which applicants to work with in the realisation of their project and eventually participate at the festival.
- Six successful applicants will take part in the mentoring phase and present their finalised project at the festival in 2020.
Funding
This opportunity is available for creatives who have great ideas but lack the funding to bring them to life. Successful applicants will receive a reasonable remuneration fee and production budget amounting to a grant of €18 000 ($20 500).
