Call for entries: Singing competition in Egypt
The Cultural Production Sector, a department under Egypt's Ministry of Culture, has launched a national singing competition titled I Am an Egyptian.
The competition is open to anyone who is of Egyptian nationality and aged between 18 and 45.
How to participate
Interested musicians should submit a maximum of two original songs.
The songs should:
- Be between four and 10 minutes long.
- Be in the MP3 format.
- Have a nationalistic spirit.
- Not be presented on at any platform before the announcement of the competition’s winner.
- Be submitted by one contestant.
The competition is based on the following categories:
- Composition
- Singing,
- Lyrics and music arrangement (orchestration).
Prizes
The ministry will award five winners and the songs will be uploaded to its official YouTube channel.
- First prize – EGP 20 000 ($1 250).
- Second prize – EGP 15 000.
- Third prize – EGP 10 000.
- Fourth prize– EGP 7 000.
- Fifth prize – EGP 5 000.
