Call for entries: IDFA performance and new media projects
The International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) is accepting entries for performances and interactive/immersive new media projects ahead of its 33 edition in the Netherlands from 18 to 29 November.
"Every year, we commission new pieces, initiate collaborations between artists and offer a wide range of industry activities to support those shaping the landscape of emerging media and art," IDFA says.
The following projects are eligible:
- Projects that combine documentary film elements with music, theatre, dance, and/or new media.
- Video installations, games and live performances.
- Web docs.
- Apps.
- Data art and XR projects.
- Multimedia journalism.
Who can apply?
This call for entries is open to filmmakers, producers and performing artists.
Requirements
For the selected films, the following materials will be required:
- Film stills (JPEG, high resolution, at least 5Mb each).
- Credit list.
- An HD video file of the final English version.
- An HD video file of the trailer.
- A digital cinema package (DCP) for festival screenings.
- For immersive/interactive projects, any of the required materials to bring your project to life in the festival exhibition.
Note that:
- In case of a performance, live event, installation or for a platform not specified above, please include visual/written documentation.
- If applicable, also include a technical rider or instructions on how to install the project.
The application deadline is 1 July 2020.
