Call for entries: Aesthetica Short Film Festival 2020 in the UK
The Aesthetica Short Film Festival (ASFF) is calling on filmmakers to submit films that will be showcased at 18 venues across York in the UK from 4 to 8 November.
The ASFF accepts submissions of short films, narrative and documentary features, 360 films as well as VR and immersive experiences. The best films in the different categories will be awarded £1 000 ($1 300).
Interested filmmakers should submit here. The submission deadline is 31 May.
The official selection will be announced in September and the winners will be announced at the ASFF awards ceremony on 8 November.
Submissions are open for the following categories (under 30 minutes per category):
- Music video
- Documentary
- VR & Immersive
- Advertising film
- Animation
- Artists’ film
- Comedy
- Dance
- Drama
- Experimental
- Fashion film
- Thriller
- Narrative Feature Film
- Documentary feature film (60-120 minutes)
How to apply
Participants should read the following guidelines before submitting entries:
- Short films should have a maximum running time of 30 minutes.
- Feature films are considered to have a runtime of 60 minutes or over.
- There is no premiere requirement for ASFF. Films that have screened at other festivals are accepted.
- There is no required completion date for screening at ASFF, but films completed in the past three years are preferred.
- Only submissions through the online entry platform or Filmfreeway will be considered.
- Entry forms must include name, address, telephone number and email address.
- Films must not be in breach of any copyright, including music or sound used in the film.
- The link to a video included in the submission form must not expire.
- All films must be in the English language, dubbed into English or subtitled in English.
- ASFF is unable to grant waiver requests.
- ASFF does not cover screening fees.
