Call for applications: Kypria Fest in Cyprus
Kypria International Festival in Cyprus has opened applications for performing artists interested in taking part in the event, which will run between September and October 2021.
Kypria is an annual festival staged at various venues across Cyprus. It organised by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth and programmes some artists in music, dance and performance art.
The organisers encourage collaborations between Cypriot and foreign artists to imbue Cypriot creation with new ideas and approaches. The final festival production should display an international character.
The festival’s artistic director will select projects that:
- Are of high production quality.
- Display universal values and reflect on social and political phenomena of our time through a timeless approach.
- Are original and modern in conceptions and execution.
- Operate controversially but also creatively and cover the whole spectrum of performing arts.
Requirements
- Analytical description of the proposal regarding the director’s approach and the reasoning behind the production (max three pages), project duration, and a description of how the proposal is consistent with the festival’s character and goals.
- Supporting materials, such as videos and photographs.
- A complete list of names and CVs of the artists and the technical staff’s names, if any.
- A detailed budget including all production expenses: salaries, rights, fees, production expenses, travel expenses, accommodation, cost of the production office that should not exceed 10% of the total budget, per diem and technical support, among others.
- Short profile of the production office (organisation, company, institution or person) submitting the proposal (one page).

Note:
- Each of the selected proposals’ legal representative will sign a related contract with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth.
- The festival has the exclusive right to find sponsors.
