Call for applications: Forecast Festival mentorship in Berlin
Forecast Festival is calling on artists and creative thinkers to apply for the fifth edition of its mentorship programme in Berlin, Germany, from 13 to 19 July.
The successful applicants will get the chance to work with accomplished mentors towards bringing their projects to fruition. The final projects will be presented to the public at Forecast Festival in Berlin from 6 to 10 April 2021.
The call is intended for all creative practitioners and cultural producers working in all creative fields anywhere in the world. Applicants are encouraged to apply with projects that could benefit them from the expertise of one of the mentors in this edition, and from that mentor’s unique approach to material and knowledge production.
The mentors at this year’s programme include Grammy-nominated composer and musician Du Yun (China), chef Manu Buffara (Brazil), curator Koyo Kouoh (Cameroon), writer and researcher Evgeny Morozov (Belarus/US), visual artist and theatre director Markus Öhrn (Sweden) and photographer and filmmaker Tobias Zielony (Germany).
The selection process is two-tiered. First, the mentors carefully review all proposals and invite three candidates each to workshop with the mentor and present their ideas at the Forecast Forum in Berlin. At the conclusion of the forum, each mentor chooses one mentee.
The six mentees will receive a production budget and artist fee, and will have nine months to bring their ideas to fruition. In addition to independent, ongoing exchanges with their mentors, this period also includes a one-on-one work stay with the mentor at an international partner institution.
