
Call for applications: Arab world travel grant for artists
Artists and cultural operators living and working in Arabic-speaking countries can apply for the Artistic and Cultural Mobility grant by Fanak Fund.

Headquartered in France, Fanak Fund was launched in 2019 to promote art and culture in Europe, the Arab world and the broader Middle East region.
Applicants must be performers, creators, teachers, organisers, administrators and project managers working in the cultural sector.
Applicants from the following African countries are eligible to apply:
- Algeria
- Morocco
- Tunisia
- Mauritania
- Egypt
- Sudan
The programme is open to the following artistic and cultural fields, either within transdisciplinary or monodisciplinary projects:
- Music projects.
- Cultural projects.
- Contemporary live arts including new theatrical forms, new writing for theatre, drama, contemporary dance, circus, street performances and puppet theatre.
- Visual arts including photography, film, digital arts and video arts.
- Literature: travel for authors' meetings, writing workshops and poetry.
- Architecture.
- Design.
- Fashion.
- Crafts.
The applicants must be traveling to:
- Prepare a project.
- Take part in a residency.
- Take part in a meeting of artists and professionals with the aim of networking or encouraging links between cultural, artistic and development actors throughout the region.
- Attend/conduct artistic training.
- Take part in debates, conferences and seminars.
Applicants should note:
- An application can be made for one trip (short mobility) or a sequence of three trips, one after the other (segmented mobility).
- Requests must be made as an individual request and sent by an organisation.
- The trip must contribute to cultural development at local level and the emancipation of populations in the countries of destination or departure.
- Eligible travel dates are from the lifting of international transport restrictions onwards, both in the country of departure and the country of destination. Since the lifting of restriction dates are not yet known, applicants can suggest approximate dates. All travel projects must be adaptable to date changes.
- Applicants must choose the cheapest form of transport and can only apply for one international return travel ticket, visa and insurance costs.
- Local transport, per diems and accommodation are not covered by this fund.
