Call for applications: 2020 National Arts Festival digital ideas
The National Arts Festival (NAF), in partnership with Digital Lab Africa, is calling on all digital specialists from around the world to be part of its 2020 virtual edition from 25 June to 5 July.
The call follows the NAF's announcement that it will go ahead with the festival as scheduled amid ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) event cancellations and postponements.
The call is intended for "sound engineers, digital artists, producers, teachers, filmmaking crews, VR nerds, animators and technical specialists."
All artists whose work is presented on the NAF virtual platform will be offered a fee and will enter into a formal agreement with ther NAF regarding the use of their work on the digital platform.

The submission deadline is 15 May.
The call is open to artists who:
- Have an existing digital work to showcase.
- Have ideas about how to reimagine an existing work, part thereof, or artistic content.
- Have a new artistic project for a digital space.
- Have skills or resources.
“In the framework of our ongoing partnership, Digital Lab Africa is joining forces with the National Arts Festival production team to relay their call for ideas and identify a wide range of digital specialists ready to collaborate and assist them and the artists facilitate their switch from physical to digital format,” the NAF said.
“If a work is selected for presentation on the Virtual NAF platform, we will enter into discussions with you about how the work will be produced and/or presented on our channels. The NAF will undertake the production of new ideas and, where appropriate, enter into partnerships with third parties to produce and/or present work.”
