Bio
Nicole Gumbe is a Botswana-based, Zimbabwean-born singer-songwriter whose soulful sound and emotive storytelling have made her a standout voice in the African music scene. Her journey began in 2013 as a backing vocalist before stepping into the spotlight with her own music in 2015. Since then, Nicole has consistently released original work, earning recognition for her unique artistry and heartfelt approach to songwriting.
She was featured on Black Girl Magik by Zambian-Australian rapper Sampa The Great — a track that received a J Award nomination for Australian Music Video of the Year in 2018. Her latest project, REFORM (The EP), showcases her evolving sound and includes collaborations with different African artists. Nicole is a seasoned live performer who has headlined her own shows, including Nicole Stripped Down (2018) and Nicole Live (2022). She has also graced major stages such as the Jam N Soul Festival in Botswana, where she opened for South African artist Lloyiso.
Drawing from her African roots, Nicole blends R&B, soul, and alternative sounds to create performances that are both intimate and transformative. Her music explores love, identity, and healing — inviting audiences to feel deeply and connect beyond borders. With every performance, Nicole continues to champion authentic African storytelling through a global soul lens.
