Mamakaffe And The Exiles

Née à Abidjan en Côte d'Ivoire, Mamakaffe est une citoyenne du monde qui ne se fixe pas de frontière. Issue d'une famille de percussionnistes, elle parcourt le monde impregnée de sa culture africaine et passionnée par le reggae.
C'est ainsi qu'elle pose ses valises en Jamaïque en 2007 où elle se rapproche de musiciens prestigieux comme Bongo Hermann et Dean Fraser. Après un premier EP en 2016 (Natural Girl), elle a sorti cette année son album Slave distribué en numérique par VP records. On y retrouve 13 titres roots très modernes pour la plupart chantés en anglais. A découvrir avec le clip de Crazy World.

son album est nommé dans les sélections des Victoires du Reggae, dans la catégorie EP Album africain de l'année et arrive en second position du podium.
C'est une insatiable bosseuse, car elle nous revient avec un titre et single plutôt dancehall hip hop, même tendance urbaine, nommé "Love Party" release en Mars 2018.
Ce titre est le premier morceau d'un futur album à venir et certainement d'un clip bientôt.

She opens up to the world confessing that the day she became aware of reggae music "it changed my life". So in 2007 she left Africa for Jamaica wanting to be close to the roots of the music.

There she lived for nine years while being guided by luminaries such as Bongo Herman and Dean Fraser and also where she met her former road manager Ricardo Berry and current manager Roger Grant.

In between she thavelled a triangular route Africa, Europe and Jamaica recording material and shooting videos. The result being releaes Crazy World, Bed's Too Big. Natural Girl, AfreekaYaye, Fatambinira, Enemies of Jahstice and Beauty of Jah Plan.

MAMAKAFFE also a French citizen currently lives in Paris where her career is growing. Last year her debut album SLAVE came out. Her music is all over the social media sphere, Facebook, Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer and Amazon. Also multiple videos on Youtube.

She also now has her own band THE EXILES. The last twelve months was hectic with shows in France and Holland and countless promotional interviews.

Her manager Roger Grant has his hands on all the details of her career and along with his partner Benton Dunn in an outfit called 619 Entertainment Group also produces and co-writes material on Slave.
This however is in partnership with Mamakaffe's imprint Tuff Mind and Tender Heart Records.

For this year the focus is on the new single LOVE PARTY and the promotion of SLAVE the album.
Mamakaffe is a tireless worker and is a firm beleiver in a line from Jimmy Cliff "you can get it if you really want it".
