Atlantic Music Expo (AME)

The Atlantic Music Expo (AME) is a platform for transatlantic cultural exchange held on the West African island of Cabo Verde, the history of which is closely linked to the transatlantic slave trade. It is committed to being a crossroads for positive exchanges and a central point for spreading the vision of creolisation that's at the heart of the Cabo Verdean identity and to keeping peace in the region.

The AME takes place in the centre of the capital, Praia. Its conferences, networking meetings, professional market and artist showcases offer a perfect setting for international music professionals and artists from Cabo Verde and abroad to network, expand their contacts and activities, and to discover the country. It takes place annually right before Kriol Jazz Festival to give the delegates the possibility to enjoy a broader offer of musical discoveries. The third edition of AME was held from 6 to 9 April 2015.
