Call for applications: Women in Entrepreneurship and Technology programme
Women in Entrepreneurship and Technology (WETECH) is calling on African female entrepreneurs to apply for its Women Innovative Leaders and Entrepreneurs (WILE) programme, which will take place online on a yet to be announced date.
The initiative, which is a response to the COVID-19 pandemic, is a leadership and coaching programme that is aimed at identifying, selecting and coaching female entrepreneurs and leaders with high potential projects in Africa. WETECH says it will attract investment and development opportunities for female entrepreneurship via technology.
WILE will provide financial support for bourgeoning businesses across the following sectors: creative industry, health, energy, commerce, finance, education, agriculture, technology, and infrastructure.
The programme unfolds in three phases: expertise, which allows selected participants access to a network of experts and mentors available; support, which offers free material and technical resources for selected projects; and an e-book, which will serve as a kit for African women entrepreneurs.
Who can apply?
The programme is open to business practitioners in the following African countries: Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Mauritius, Madagascar, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Senegal, Seychelles, Chad and Togo.
To qualify, interested business practitioners should:
- Be aged between 21 and 35 years old.
- Be the founder or co-founder of an innovative project or a start-up with high potential or already generating income.
- Have integrated the technology or be able to use it in the development of their activity.
