Call for entries: MaMA Invent RIFFX Prize
The MaMA Festival and Convention and French online radio RIFFX are inviting music professionals and organisations to submit projects for the 2020 MaMA Invent RIFFX Prize.
The successful applicants will get an opportunity to pitch the project to a jury of music, technology and media professionals during MaMA Festival and Convention, which takes place between 14 and 16 October 2020.
The proposal can be an innovative project, product or service in the music sector.
The first African startup to win the prize was a music streaming app called Deedo in 2017. Initially launched in Senegal by Awa Girard and musician Nix, the platform now operates in Mali, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Gabon, Nigeria, France, and the UK.
The proposed project should use new technology (AI, VR, blockchain, etc.) or be based on social innovation.
The project can take the following forms:
- Web.
- Mobile application.
- Software.
- Platform.
- Marketplace.
- Service for the live sector.
- Distribution of recorded music, publishing and promotion, etc.
Benefits
- All selected participants will receive two delegate passes for MaMA 2020.
- MaMA and its partners will offer a year of support to the winning project to ensure its actualisation.
