Listen to new Dee Xclsv single featuring Khuli Chana
South African rapper Dee Xclsv has released a single titled ‘Water Into Wine’.
The single features Khuli Chana and Manu WorldStar, and is available for streaming here.
“‘Water Into Wine is basically the miracle that Jesus performed,” Dee Xclsv said. “This symbolised that he was able to take something that was normal, and turn it into something significant. Which is basically what we feel like we did with the song. The two cups on the album art are an ode to Khuli pouring some of his magic water into my cup, and turning it into wine.”
Dee Xclsv said he got to work on the song with one of his idols. “I first discovered Khuli Chana with the single ‘Tswakstikem’, then I started to lock into his music when he released ‘No More Hunger’. I'm a huge fan because we're both from the North West province and the song means so much to me. Khuli is somebody that I've actually looked up to for a while.
“In 2020, God willing, you can expect a lot more music from Dee Xclsv. I've got a project that's almost wrapped up, that's dropping soon. More videos, more content and consistency is the word,” he said.
Born Didintle Mokhine, Dee Xclsv has spent the past few months in the studio working on new music. The 23 year old is making an impression on the local hip hop scene. Last year, Trace TV named him as a Bout To Blow Artist, and he featured in the June issue of The Plug magazine. Dee Xclsv was also included in the publication’s top 100 most influential South Africans in urban culture.
