Flora Paré

Bio

Flora Paré is a singer, songwriter, and performer. Her preferred musical domains include reggae and afro-fusion, but her music is also influenced by blues, soul, and even rap. She draws inspiration from national greats such as Victor Démé, as well as international artists such as Aretha Franklin, Angélique Kidjo, Danakil and Jacob Banks, reflecting the diversity of her musical creativity.

Her early career as a performer took place at dinners and events in the associative circles she frequented. As a student, she joined a choir, where she remained for a year. She later left Ouagadougou to continue her studies, but joined an orchestra in Bobo-Dioulasso called "Joyous", where she honed her skills as a performer. After her return to Ouagadougou, she continued to work as a performer in the orchestra led by bassist Sylvain Dando Paré, where she learned to excel in order to earn a place on stage. She later left the orchestra to gain experience as a backing singer.

In 2020, Flora Paré became Plan International WACA's "Ambassador for Gender Equality" thanks to her participation in a competition launched by this organization. In the same year, she returned to her first love as a performer, but in a new guise: piano bar, which she performs in some of the city's most prestigious establishments.

During the course of her career, she collaborated with other artists on projects such as "Pour la Patrie" with Dr Abdallah and "Jour de Gloire" with seventeen of the greatest artists on the national music scene. On December 18, 2022, she released her very first single entitled "Intro - de l'amour en bandes sonores", a song that blends reggae with a strong rap influence.

Finally, on Friday, August 4, 2023, Flora Paré reached a major peak in her career by winning the silver medal at the 9th Jeux de la Francophonie, held in Kinshasa. This historic victory was her country's first podium finish at this prestigious event.

Back in Burkina Faso, she and a dozen other artists took part in the "Nos Voix Pour la Paix" project, a song for peace in Burkina Faso, and took part in an 8-date tour of different towns in Burkina Faso.

2024 is set to be a year of revelation for Flora Paré, who intends to take advantage of the experience she has acquired to make her voice heard in the concert of nations.
