Y Celeb (real name Webster Chikalaba Jr.) is a highly influential Zambian rapper and the leader of the musical movement Super Government World Wide. Born in 1991 in the Chimwemwe suburb of Kitwe, he is a central figure in the "Kopala" (Copperbelt) music scene.
Musical Career
- 408 Empire: He first rose to national fame as a founding member of the group 408 Empire, alongside artists Ray Dee and Sub Sabala. Their breakout hit, "Chilepule Baby", became a nationwide success.
- Solo Success: After leaving the group to pursue a solo career, he solidified his status with hits like "I'm a Gangster Exeh" (featuring Chef 187), "Soldier", and "Talala Pamyenu".
- "Zambia ku Chalo": He is credited with popularizing the viral slogan "Zambia ku Chalo" (Zambia to the world), which has become a phrase of national pride for Zambians globally
