Bio

Sangie (born Angel Mbekeani) is a multi-award-winning Malawian reggae and dancehall artist, songwriter, and actress known for her soulful voice and impactful lyrics. Based in Blantyre, she has become one of the most prominent female voices in Malawi’s music industry, often incorporating themes of love and social empowerment into her work.

Career & Achievements

Musical Debut: She rose to fame in 2014 with her first single, "I Do It All for Love," followed by hits like "Ndangozizidwa" and "Mayi Wangilo".

Awards: She has won several Urban Music Party (UMP) Awards, including Best Female Act in 2017 and Best Female Artist of the Year in 2015.

Advocacy: Sangie is a UNICEF Champion for Children in Malawi, using her platform to promote girls' education and fight against gender-based violence
