Papa Shikongeni

Papa Shikonjeni (full name Ndasuunje Shikongeni) is a musician who believes there is no line between music and visual arts. He began singing when he was in primary. In 1998, he joined Lisboa Expo as a vocalist and dancer. He has released a number of albums, including ‘Aantu Aantu’, ‘Aathigona’ and ‘Shili Mekunde’. In 2010, he performed at the Shanghai World Expo with artists like Ras Sheehama, Patricia, Erna, Tunakie, Auxe, Ndilimani among others. On 19 November 2011, he launched a live CD at the National Theatre of Namibia. In July 2014, the artist was invited to represent Namibia at an art show in preparation for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.

The artist hosts events which combine music and visual arts. He does this so that artists can establish relationships amongst themselves. He has to date hosted more than 16 solo exhibitions and over 40 group exhibitions. He has travelled to countries such as Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Kenya, Eritrea, Uganda, Burundi, Zambia, United Kingdom, Germany, Russia and Norway.
