Bio
Mtholisi, born Kungawo Prince Manjo on 11 December 2012 in the Western Cape, South Africa, is a Maskandi artist and songwriter known for blending traditional Zulu music with modern influences.
From a young age, he developed a deep passion for traditional Zulu sounds and cultural music. His interest in music grew while attending Eluxolweni Public Primary School, where he first became exposed to performance and creative expression.
He later continued his education at Sphamandla Senior Secondary School, where he began actively developing his musical identity. During this time, he performed and explored both Maskandi and Gospel music styles, while also learning acoustic guitar, which became an important foundation in shaping his sound.
Alongside his education, Mtholisi continues to study while balancing his passion for music. As of 2026, he is still in school and pursuing studies in Engineering, while continuing to grow as a young artist.
He officially began releasing music with his debut single “Ushaya Abafana” (2025). Although it did not gain major attention at the time, it marked the beginning of his recording journey. Over the following years, he continued developing his sound and building his catalogue.
In 2026, he worked on expanding his musical direction, focusing on improving his production and storytelling. His release “Uzofa Remix” which blew out on YouTube in 11 k views , It reflects his evolving style and willingness to experiment while staying connected to Maskandi roots.
