Modola

Modola, born Temidola Awosika on 17 April 2005, is an Italian-based Nigerian singer and songwriter known for her work in Afrobeats and Afropop. She was born in Lagos, Nigeria, and later moved to Milan, Italy, where she grew up and studied arts and social sciences before fully pursuing a music career.

She officially began her professional journey in 2024 after signing with PG Records Entertainment. Modola gained widespread attention in 2025 with the release of her single Talk, which went viral and charted on the TurnTable Top 100. The success of the song positioned her as one of the most promising emerging artists of the year and earned her recognition from industry platforms focused on new talent.

In July 2025, Modola released her debut extended play titled New Light. The six-track project showcased her versatility and artistic range, blending Afropop with soulful and contemporary influences. The EP marked a significant milestone in her career and was supported by a university tour across Nigeria, helping her connect directly with a young and growing audience.

Beyond recorded music, Modola has built a reputation as a confident live performer. She has appeared at notable events, including the Africa Celebrate event in Ethiopia, and performed internationally at the OVO Arena Wembley in London. These performances further established her presence beyond the studio and highlighted her ability to engage diverse audiences.

Her music is influenced by her multicultural background, drawing from both Nigerian roots and European experiences. This blend is reflected in her sound, themes, and artistic identity. By the end of 2025, Modola was featured on Boomplay’s So Young, So Hot list, recognising her as one of the most streamed female artists under the age of 20 and confirming her growing impact within the African music scene.
