Maties Jazz Society

The Maties Jazz Society was established in 2021, through Stellenbosch university, by the the guidance of Ramon Alexander, who is one of the leading jazz musicians and educators on South African Jazz Music. This Group is a collective of stellenbosh university Music students, who are active and interested in jazz music. The society has the goal of exposing the people of stellenbosch to jazz music, especially South African jazz. At the moment, the society mostly attracts the attention of the students of the conservatorium, however the idea is to broaden the horizons of the group and be made known to the people of stellenbosch as well as the Cape Town area.
