Malesela Mabotja
Bio
Malesela Cecil Mabotja is a dynamic event and stage manager, as well as a multidisciplinary creative, working across South Africa’s vibrant arts and culture sector. Currently serving as an Event Manager under Music In Africa through the Botaki Ba Afrika programme, he plays a pivotal role in planning, coordinating, and executing cultural events that champion local talent.
With a strong background in theatre production, Malesela has extensive experience in stage management, ensuring the seamless delivery of live performances and educational theatre productions. He has collaborated with notable creatives and organisations, including Percy Dhlamini, Soetry Media, Masai Sepuru, and the Presto Art & Music Foundation. His work demonstrates a deep commitment to storytelling, artistic excellence, and community engagement.
In addition to his production and management roles, Malesela works as an Artist Manager, currently overseeing the career of Percy Dhlamini. In this capacity, he supports career development, branding, and performance coordination.
Beyond production, he is a passionate visual artist, specialising in painting and drawing. His artistic practice complements his live production work, enabling him to express creativity across multiple mediums.
