Bio

Khululekani Mbanjwa, professionally known as Keynote, emerges as a distinguished singer/songwriter hailing from the KwaZulu-Natal Province, specifically born in the Mpophomeni Township of Howick on June 19, 1991. His formative years transpired in Pietermaritzburg, within the modest confines of Mpumelelo Township. Keynote's musical journey commenced at the tender age of 4, marked by his vocal contributions in the church, a significant genesis catalyzed by his grandmother’s influence.

During his high school tenure, Keynote’s musical aptitude solidified, as he assumed the role of choir master in the gospel genre. Further demonstrating his vocal prowess, he took the lead in Isicathamiya, propelling Umvuzo Secondary School to a notable 2nd place in the schools competition of 2007.

In the year 2013, Keynote transitioned into the studio realm, collaborating with renowned figures such as Swakhile, Bongx.V, Ceemba, Kolo, Ngo, L Way, Cass, Taylor, Gwija, Farmboy, FannieMagz, Jeezy Fire, Mthembu Boi, and several others under the tutelage of NFX. His immersion in the musical landscape led to his official inclusion as a full-fledged member of the crew.

Keynote’s portfolio extends beyond collaborations with local talents, as he has also lent his skills to various projects alongside both local and international artists. His unwavering belief in the transformative power of music is encapsulated in his mantra, "Believe it does things!"
