Kenny Mirasano
Bio
Kenny Mirasano is a Rwandan singer, songwriter, and actor. After graduating from the Nyundo School of Music, he took part in various artistic projects as both an actor and a singer, which led him to perform on international stages (Senegal, Tanzania, France, Morocco, etc.). In 2024, he multiplied his concert appearances in Rwanda, ranging from intimate shows to large-scale events: the Kigali Triennial (February), the Mabara Meza Festival (February), the 30th Commemoration of the Genocide against the Tutsi - Kwibuka 30 (April), the Institut Français du Rwanda (May), the Ubumuntu Festival (July), and the FIA Congress (December). That same year, he also co-founded Kaaze Events, an organization dedicated to the organisation and production of artistic events.
In March 2025, he released his debut album Yewe Muntu, followed by a musical tour across Rwanda, the Yewe Muntu Tour, produced by Kaaze Events. He travelled through the country over several days, performing in villages, markets, the streets of Kigali, schools, and more.
During the summer of 2025, Kenny Mirasano organised a major concert to celebrate his album's release - a show blending music, dance, and theatre, bringing together around fifty performers on stage (traditional dance, contemporary dance, choir, rap, Gakondo, Soul...).
In 2025, this time as an actor, he joined the project Gahugu Gato, directed by Didacienne Nibagwire and Frédéric Fisbach, which notably brought him to the Festival d'Avignon (IN).
That same year, he performed his Yewe Muntu Album in France for the first time during Biennale Euro-Africa in Montpellier.
In 2026 he starts a new village tour project called Ijwi Ry'Amahoro, and is still on tour in Europe with Gahugu Gato.
Kenny Mirasano's artworks intends to deliver messages of hope, truth, peace and love, as well as reflecting on different untold stories. He mixes Rwandan traditional music (Gakondo) with modern music to form an African hybrid fusion that is uniquely Rwandan.
