Israel Tafara
Bio
I’m a self-taught musician exploring sound as both story and self-expression.
Rooted in experimentation, I create music that bends genres and builds emotional landscapes — from stripped-down intimacy to layered sonic explosions.
My practice was shaped on the stage, not in a classroom. I cut my teeth curating and performing at my own platform, SKAP, where I learned the art of performance, direction, and sound in real time. Since then, I’ve grown a body of work that includes performances for platforms like The Fabrik Party in Harare, collaborations with Alliance Française, and contributions to the Kwela Initiative.
I’m interested in the intersection of African alternative sounds, identity, and visual storytelling.
Every project, whether a song, performance, or music video, is a way to craft world and feeling — to make the invisible felt.
Currently building new sonic experiences and growing a community around music that speaks beyond borders.
