Elsy Wameyo is a Kenyan-born, Australian-based singer, rapper, songwriter, and producer whose music blends hip-hop, soul, R&B, and African influences into a distinctive and compelling sound. Born in Nairobi, Kenya, she relocated to Australia at the age of seven, growing up between two cultures—a duality that has profoundly shaped her identity and artistic voice. Early exposure to church and gospel music influenced her lyrical themes, which often explore faith, belonging, and social consciousness.
Career Highlights
Elsy began her professional music journey in 2017–2018, quickly gaining recognition in Australia’s vibrant music scene. Her debut single, Intuition (2018), marked the start of her ascent, earning her the Young Kenyan of the Year award the same year. In 2019, she won Best Hip Hop (People’s Choice) at the SA Music Awards.
