Elizabeth Gaylord

Elizabeth Gaylord (born 1993) is a composer, performer and jazz educator.

Gaylord began classical piano lessons when she was 6 years old. She later studied jazz piano at the University of Cape Town after developing a love for jazz that was influenced by her parents.

She has a part of many jazz festivals such as the Joy of Jazz Festival, Cape Town Big Band Festival, Standard Bank National Youth Jazz Festival and the SAJE Festival.

In 2015 she was awarded the opportunity to study a jazz program in Italy, and in 2016 she was chosen as a member of the Standard Bank National Youth Jazz Band under the direction of Carlo Mombelli.
