Danny

Bio

Born on 18 February 1979 in Lusaka, Zambia, Danny Siulapwa is the last born in a family of six. He was partially brought up in the Northern town of Zambia, Kasama and attained secondary education in Mpika. During his school days in Mpika, he managed to divide his time well between studying physics, from which he understands sound waves and helping with work at his father’s farm a short drive away. His love for music came way before he learned the standard definition of the word and that was during the time he made contribution to the teens praise team at church. By the time Danny set foot in the recording studio he saw success.

He has however lived his life in Zambia’s capital Lusaka. He studied for a diploma in Electrical Engineering but he had discovered his musical ability at Church and developed his talent while at Secondary School. He is a singer and songwriter whose song ‘Kaya’ was the longest running number one single in Zambian History for 15 weeks.

He has established himself as one of the leading young musicians in the country. In April 2005, he released his fourth album ‘Kaya’. In 2007 he released an album titled ‘Champion’. The project gained a lot of steam on the Zambian radio charts with songs like ‘Champion’ the title track and ‘Ka Last’.

He has a high profile and huge fanbase across south central Africa (including Malawi and Zimbabwe). This has helped to consolidate his position as Zambia’s leading artist.
