Chivweka Ceremony

Bio

Chivweka Ceremony is an annual event held by the Luchazi people in North West, Zambia. Held every July, the ceremony involves the making of fire from wood an indication that they are originals of this world and deserve to preserve this cultural heritage by sourcing funds to upgrade the ceremony so that it will attract both local and foreign tourists. Cultural activities such as singing, dancing and beating of drums also take place at this event.
