Bio

Born in The Gambia on 17 November 1989, Babucarr Jammeh, best known in the musical circles as Izz Juvey is a UK-based rapper and songwriter. He was born in Brufut village and later moved Edinburgh, in the U.K. to join his parents when he was 15 years old.

His passion for music began in his childhood. In 2012, he released his first single called ‘Moment of Blackout’. In 2013, he independently created and distributed his ground breaking mixtape titled ‘Diary of Young Juvey: Born N Da Heart of Gambia’. The project did well on the music scene and earned him a title in the Gambian music industry.

That same year, he graduated at Edinburgh’s Napier University with Bachelor of Engineering, gaining Second Class Honors in Computer Systems and Networks. In 2014, he toured The Gambia to promote his music through concerts and collaborations with other Gambian artists.

He also released ‘Troubled Youth: The Hidden Truth’ and a mixtape titled ‘Serpents Are Among Us’. Some of his most popular songs include ‘Moment of Blackout’ and ‘Meeroo Kaanaa Kumboo’.

He also released a single called ‘Better Day’ which will feature on his debut album (to be released mid 2016).
