Wizkid’s single ‘Joro’ has reached No 1 on iTunes Nigeria and has appeared on various music charts worldwide.
The hit single, which was written and produced by Northboi, has quickly made its mark on music charts around the globe.
Released a day before Nigeria's Independence Day on 1 October, the song has hit the right chord with the Afrobeats star's fans and could become one of the biggest songs out of Nigeria this year.
The song was accompanied by a music video shot in Nigeria and England, which has also been received well on YouTube with close to 1 million views at the time of writing.
The video also peaked at No 11 on the iTunes Top 40 Music Videos chart.
This marks another success story for the Starboy Entertainment label boss after his collaboration with Beyoncé on ‘Brown Skin Girl’, which hit No 1 on the US charts earlier this year.
Joro, which means 'mindlessness' in the Yoruba language, follows the September release of ‘Ghetto Love’. Both singles are taken off the Nigerian Afropop sensation’s highly anticipated album Made in Lagos.
According to the artist’s tweet on the day 'Joro' was released, another song will drop soon. “Love you guys more! Sorry for the wait. Another jam next week!” Wizkid wrote.
