Sean Tizzle

Bio

Sean Tizzle was born Morihafen Oluwaseun Oluwabamidele in Lekki, a suburb of Lagos State. Introduced to music by a Gospel singing uncle, he was initially a rapping member of 3-way Band, an amateur group.

He left the group and switched to singing. A self-professed studio rat, the University of Ibadan trained theatre artist later met producer D'Tunes, with the duo collaborating and putting out a record in 2009.
With D'Tunes on production, Sean Tizzle released 'Sho Lee' (2013). 'Sho Lee' became the artist's first hit song, its success partly marred by the revelation that Sound Sultan, who had been a mentor of sorts, wrote it. Further, Sean Tizzle had left Sound Sultan's label for D'Tunes Difference Entertainment.

A legal dispute was settled amicably with Sound Sultan receiving credit for the song. In spite of the issues surrounding his breakout single, Sean Tizzle would later win the Next Rated category at the 2013 Headies, Nigeria’s premier music award event.

When Sean Tizzle’s debut album, ‘The Journey’ (2014) won Best R&B/Pop award in 2014—beating Sound Sultan’s ‘Me, My Mouth and Eye’ in the process—it was received as a consolidation of his promise as spotted by the Next Rated win. The songs ‘Loke Loke’ and ‘Perfect Gentleman,’ from ‘The Journey’ have enjoyed considerable airplay on Nigerian radio.
