Chisamba Rhythm
Stephen Liphesa from the Music Crossroads Academy in Malawi explains Chisamba, a traditional rhythm and dance performed in central Malawi to celebrate young women’s coming of age. Three drummers break down the various rhythm patterns using mbitimbiti (high drum), mtiwiso (middle drum) and mpanje (solo drum).
